GHG doesn't slow anything down; each molecule emits as much IR as it absorbs; there's no free energy to be gained.

You can't increasing temps by trapping EMR. Even if EMR is trapped, the energy of it is not, and proceeds to be transferred in other ways. Only the emissivity and the temperature affects the emission. Greenhouse gases increase earth's emissivity.

This was well argued in a recent pdf here:

http://jennifermarohasy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/AGW_Falsified_Michael_Hammer.pdf
Carbon Conhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11326150646151735913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29179089.post-30336410835572766682014-01-01T04:40:20.109+10:002014-01-01T04:40:20.109+10:00You say "Earth is supposed to be, according t...You say "Earth is supposed to be, according to conventional calculations, 33C warmer than it "should" be. If something is at a higher temperature than before, then the increase in temperature is also an increase in energy. Yet it remains to be explained by conventional authorities just how greenhouse gases can develop such extra energy."

I don't know why you are so bent out of shape about this. The presence of GHGs increases the temperature of the atmosphere by slowing down the escape of infrared radiation. There is, however, no net energy gain. The increased energy trapped in the atmosphere is equivalent to the amount not lost to space (while the concentration of GHG increases and until an equilibrium between the energy flows is reached).Dan Huenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29179089.post-30674518644155729582013-01-24T19:10:01.845+10:002013-01-24T19:10:01.845+10:00Thanks for commenting John and thanks for reading!...Thanks for commenting John and thanks for reading! It's been quite a journey for me to go from a believer in greenhouse theory to total skeptic. About two years ago I started waking up, and it's been quite a mental effort to figure this out for myself. You really have to think hard! (And a lot of people don't like to do that I guess.)

The true believers always point to Tyndall experiment as "the" proof of the greenhouse theory. You'd think they would have a much more up to date experiment they could point to, but no, it has to be some dank, dusty 150 year old experiment, that most of them don't understand anyway.Carbon Conhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11326150646151735913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29179089.post-4524646559981301702013-01-24T04:14:24.910+10:002013-01-24T04:14:24.910+10:00Dear Paul,
